Dr. Charoula Tsoutsi is a member of the Laboratory Teaching Staff (E.DI.P.) at the Department of Chemistry, University of Ioannina, and serves in the Laboratory of Industrial Chemistry. Her academic field is Environmental Analysis and its applications in Environmental Protection. Her research focuses on the development and application of analytical methodologies for the extraction, identification, and quantification of toxic organic micropollutants, including pesticides, endocrine-disrupting compounds, pharmaceuticals, and industrial contaminants in environmental matrices, food products, and biological samples. Her expertise includes extraction techniques such as, SPE, SPME, and QuEChERS, as well as gas and liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, chemometrics, statistical data analysis, and quality assurance. She is also involved in environmental and human health risk assessment studies related to contaminant exposure through the food chain. Dr. Tsoutsi participated in more than 16 European and national research projects, and serves as a reviewer for five international scientific journals.
