Maria Llompart is a Full Professor in the Department of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Santiago de Compostela, specializing in extraction techniques, chromatography, mass spectrometry, environmental monitoring, and food analysis. She has supervised 18 doctoral theses, all awarded the Quality Mention distinction, and authored more than 200 papers in ISI-indexed journals and 15 international book chapters. She has led and participated in numerous national and international research projects and serves on the advisory boards of prestigious journals, as well as a reviewer in analytical chemistry and environmental sciences. She has co-chaired several international conferences and will chair EuSP 2026–GSAC 2026 in Santiago de Compostela. Her research focuses on sustainable analytical methodologies, including Green Chemistry-based sample preparation, GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS analysis, environmental pollutants, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, microplastics, pesticides, mycotoxins, toxic compounds, and photodegradation studies of emerging contaminants.
