Short biography:

Dr Thierry Dagnac, a permanent researcher at the Galician Agency for Food Quality-Agronomic and Agricultural Research Centre, (AGACAL-CIAM), has a Ph.D. in chemical sciences, with more than 25 years of experience in the participation and management of R/D projects. He joined CIAM in January 2005 after spending 4 years as project manager and head of laboratory (environmental chemistry) at the French geological Survey (BRGM).
Since his arrival at CIAM, he has been leading 12 research projects and participated in 15 other ones, including projects and networks funded by the Spanish Research Agency (AEI), as well as INTERREG and FEADER proposals. His main research areas consist of improving the food/feed safety in agrarian productive processes as well as assessing the environmental impact in relation to the presence of pesticides, organic emerging pollutants and transformation products, especially in water and soils. Besides, he is an expert in High Resolution Mass Spectrometry applied to non-target workflows. Thierry Dagnac co-directed 7 doctoral theses in the last 13 years. He has 54 publications in the first quartile of its 84 articles published in high impact international journal. He acts as a reviewer in 6 of the top 10 international journals in the category of analytical chemistry. He is part of the ANEP (Spanish Agency for Evaluation and Prospective) expert database for the evaluation of R/D projects. From 2022, he is member of the Steering Committee of the Spanish Society of Mass Spectrometry (SEEM). He is also a permanent member of the Scientific Committee of the bi-annual conference "European Conference on Pesticides and Related Organic Micropollutants in the Environment and Symposium on Chemistry and Fate of Modern Pesticides. He has been co-chairing several international conferences and he will be co-chairman of the 4th European Sample Preparation Conference - 3rd Green and Sustainable Analytical Chemistry Conference (EuSP 2026-GSAC 2026), to be held in Santiago de Compostela in October 2026.
