Short biography:

Dr. I. Konstantinou is currently full Professor in Pollution Control and Environmental Protection Technologies, Laboratory of Industrial Chemistry, Department of Chemistry, University of Ioannina (UoI), Greece. He holds a B.S degree and Ph.D. in Chemistry (UoI). He also studied in Ecole Nationale de Chimie Montpellier and University Claude Bernard-I Lyon. He has been a collaborating faculty member of Hellenic Open University. His scientific focus is on: a) Chemical Technology for pollutants treatment and cyclic economy (Advanced Oxidation Processes, (photo)catalysis, adsorption, pyrolysis, etc.); b) Analytical methods with focus on chromatography-mass spectrometry for the determination of pollutants and degradation products in processes and environmental media; c) Environmental fate and risk assessment of pollutants. He has published more than 235 ISI publications that have received >16000 citations (H-index=60). He is included in the Stanford University's list of "World's Top 2%" scientists. He has communicated >270 communications in scientific conferences also as invited speaker and member of organizing/scientific committees. He holds 2 patents from the Hellenic Industrial Property Organization. He was/is the supervisor of >14 Ph.D. theses and >30 MSc theses and participated in the examination jury of numerous PhDs and MSc diplomas in different universities in Greece and Europe. He acted as a reviewer for 120 scientific journals and for national (Greek) and international research proposals. He is member of the editorial board in 4 scientific journals.
