Triantafyllos Albanis (Almpanis) is Emeritus Professor of Technology of Monitoring and Environmental Protection in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Ioannina. He holds a degree in Chemistry from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and earned a PhD from Department of Chemistry at the University of Ioannina. 

He has post-doctoral studies in Department of Biochemistry (1989) and in the Department of Earth and Physical Sciences 1990, at the State University of Texas at San Antonio, USA. He has a Research Fellowship in Environmental Toxicology at the University of Kuopio, Finland (1995). He has over 270 publications in international journals with high impact factors, more than16.000 citations and a Hirsh factor=70. He was member in Editorial Boards of 3 international Journals and Guest Editor in 3 Special Issues.
